Norfolk Lake House - The Boathouse

If your idea of a great break includes water views the moment you wake up, this luxury lakeside lodge at Pentney Lakes in Norfolk is a lovely fit. Set right on the edge of an unfenced lake, it’s designed for slow mornings, peaceful sunsets and easy days outdoors, with space for up to four guests.

Inside, everything is laid out on the ground floor with a bright open plan living space that makes it easy to relax together. The lounge area includes a Smart TV and a double sofa bed, handy if you are travelling as a small family or want a little extra flexibility. Bi fold doors open straight onto your private decking so you can step outside with your first coffee and watch the lake change with the light.

The kitchen is well equipped for proper self catering, with an electric oven, induction hob, combi microwave oven grill, fridge freezer and dishwasher, plus a coffee machine. There’s also a washing machine, which is a real bonus for longer stays or active days out. When it’s time to turn in, you have a comfortable double bedroom and a sleek shower room with a cubicle shower and heated towel rail. Wi Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included, along with a welcome pack to get you started.

Outside, you have a back garden with a sitting out area, as well as the deck right by the water. Fishing is available on site with the correct licence, and if you fancy something more energetic, Pentney Lakes offers watersports including water skiing, paddleboarding and wakeboarding, with booking required. The wider setting is special too, with the lodge sitting within a development surrounded by over 275 acres of private woodland and freshwater lakes, ideal for gentle walks and wildlife spotting.

Location wise, you’re in West Norfolk between King’s Lynn and the North Norfolk coast. That puts you in a great position for exploring local favourites like Castle Rising, Sandringham and Snettisham, plus coastal days out to Heacham, Hunstanton and Brancaster. Back at the lodge, you can keep things simple, slow down, and enjoy the calm that comes with being right by the water.
